American City Planning Directors' Council
The American City Planners Directors'
Council (ACPDC) is a national organization of the City Planning Directors
from America's largest central and other cities in the
nation and in each state. City Planning Directors automatically become
members when they are appointed to a City Planning Director position. Over
300 cities from all 50 states are included.
ACPDC’s primary purpose is to improve the quality
of America's
cities. It does this through an information exchange program, meetings and
supporting the American City Quality Month program every April. The purpose
of the month long activities is to raise public awareness about the
status and future or America's
cities and promote better city planning, decisions, design, development,
management and action.
ACPDC's
presiding officer is the City Planning Director from the same City as the
National League of Cities'
President.
Activities of the ACPDC are supported in part by the American City Quality
Foundation.
Information Exchange Program
The Information Exchange Program is a program of the American City
Quality Foundation to promote the exchange of information among the nation's city planning directors and colleagues.
Information includes news, plans, studies and reports prepared by the city
planning director's offices or
other sources.
City Planning Directors are encouraged to participate in this program by
notifying the ACQF office and sending a copy of the report. ACQF will then
send mailing labels or make other arrangements for the report's distribution.
